Ms. Uvirova's research activities focus on the treatment of nuclear wastes. The focus
of her current research is development and verification of a technology for cesium separation
from acidic, high-level radioactive waste of types found at U.S. DOE sites using regenerable
hexacyanoferrate-based composite absorbers with polyacrylonitrile binding matrix. During the 1998 Fall semester Ms. Uvirova worked at the Florida State University, at the Department of Nuclear Chemistry in the laboratory of Professor Gregory R. Choppin, where she was involved in the research program for the determination of the behavior of plutonium in natural aquatic systems. Return To The Staff Directory...
